Following a review of our qualifications, and in light of changes in funding arrangements and Apprenticeship reforms, we have decided to withdraw the Procom qualifications from 31 December 2017.
The Procom suite has a number of qualifications (with common units) with a number of learning purposes. Some of these qualifications make up the apprenticeships at level 2 and 3 for the IT, Software, Web and Telecoms Professionals SASE framework and will be replaced by new apprenticeship standards; the withdrawal is being announced now so that we can give sufficient notice to prepare centres to move over from the SASE frameworks to the new apprenticeship standards.
The PROCOM qualifications are vocationally-related, credit-based qualifications, designed to accredit the knowledge and understanding of practitioners in the IT industry. This qualification is suitable for those who already possess basic knowledge and understanding of ICT and who wish to extend their knowledge and skills. It is suitable for those in education who wish to gain access to the IT industry and those who are already employed in IT roles.
We’ve put together this guide to give additional guidance on how internal standardisation may be approached. These guidelines must be used in conjunction with the Centre Handbook and Admin Guide relevant to the qualification you are delivering.
