The information below refers to legacy Functional Skills. Our reformed Functional Skills qualifications have been withdrawn and are no longer available.
For Functional Skills qualifications that are entirely internally-assessed, you do not need to apply to us. However you need to make sure that access arrangements for internally-assessed Functional Skills units are in line with Ofqual’s Functional Skills qualifications criteria.
Access arrangements must not affect the reliability or validity of assessment outcomes. They must not give the student an advantage over other students undertaking the same or similar assessments.
