We issue certificates on the following conditions:
- A certificate is, and remains the property of OCR. Certificates must be returned upon request. We reserve the right to replace certificates if necessary.
- You are responsible for giving all your candidates their certificates as soon as you can, regardless of any disputes, such as non-payment of fees. You must not withhold a certificate without permission from us first.
- You can either give certificates to candidates in person or post them. Where candidates collect them, we recommend you obtain proof of identity and signatures to confirm receipt. If you post certificates, we recommend you send them by a traceable method.
- If the certificate is altered or defaced it is invalid and may result in the withdrawal of grades.
- You must keep unclaimed certificates in a safe place for at least 12 months from the date we issue them.
- You can destroy any unclaimed certificates after retaining them for a minimum of 12 months. They must be destroyed confidentially. If you are unable to do this you may return them to us. You should keep a record of certificates that have been destroyed for four years from their date of destruction.
