Amending your general qualification and Cambridge Nationals entries for June 2020
04 May 2020
We wanted to provide you with more information about updating your GCSE, AS, A Level, Core Maths, FSMQ, EPQ and Cambridge Nationals entries to make sure everything is in place for you to receive your students’ results in August. We will be providing information about Cambridge Technicals and other vocational qualifications separately. We’re expecting to hear from Ofqual on Tuesday 5 May about Year 10s (and lower) and getting grades this summer.
You can make changes to your entries from Monday 4 May until Friday 15 May 2020. In order to receive a grade for your candidates, they will need an entry. After 15 May, it will no longer be possible to make any changes to your entries and any candidates without an entry will not receive a result.
For linear qualifications, you need an overall entry for the qualification. For unitised qualifications such as Cambridge Nationals, you need to make sure you have both unit entries and certification entries:
- If you have previously withdrawn your entries and now wish to reinstate them, please make new entries for these candidates. You will not be charged late entry fees.
- If you do not believe it is in the best interest of your candidates to receive a calculated result for the June 2020 series, you may wish to withdraw your entries. We will refund any entries that were made for pre-Year 11 candidates and AS or A Level entries.
- For qualifications with tiers, you need to provide a single rank order across all tiers. However, the centre assessment grade you provide must be available in the tier you’ve entered for. If you need to change the entry tier, you can do this without charge.
- If you are not able to provide centre assessment grades and rank orders for your private candidates, you may withdraw their entries and receive a full refund. More information about private candidates is available on our website and from the JCQ.
- If you have made Cambridge Nationals unit entries for June 2020 and are planning to certificate in June 2021 or beyond, we recommend you do not withdraw these entries as this will enable us to use these entries to generate a future qualification grade. This will not prevent you from entering the candidate for that unit next year. However, we would like to reassure you that, if completing these units next year is not possible due to workload issues, you will not need to – the candidate would still get a grade.
We will be providing more information about submitting your centre assessment grades and rank orders for general qualifications, and about the process for Cambridge Nationals and Cambridge Technicals shortly.
