Update to Level 3 Cambridge Technicals in Digital Media (2016 suite) unit 22
10 January 2020
Specification updates
We have made some updates to the specification to clarify the teaching content and assessment guidance for Learning Objective 1 (LO1) of unit 22.
In LO1.2, the four media forms (film, TV, radio and computer games) are now listed after an ‘i.e.’ indicating they must be taught as part of this Learning Objective.
The examples within each media form are now listed after an 'e.g.' indicating they are illustrative and learners must be able to apply relevant examples in their work. Learners’ evidence should include at least one example from each of the four media forms, however they are not required to provide examples of every bullet point listed under each media form.
We have also updated the assessment guidance to clarify the requirements of learners for the grade P1. Learners’ evidence should cover the different scripted elements listed in LO1.1 in relation to at least one scripted media product from each of the four different media areas listed in LO1.2 (e.g. film UK, TV soaps, radio drama and scripts for computer games).
If learners have completed unit 22 using the previous version of the unit specification this will be accepted until the end of the 2019/20 academic year.
