Why move to OCR?
- A diverse course that you have full control over, allowing you to maximise your department’s expertise and resources
- Each option is examined on its own discrete question paper, with examiners only marking the units they specialise in
- Our straightforward questions mean that your students will understand what they need to do and be rewarded for their achievement with our clear hurdle free mark schemes
- Our approach to NEA is flexible to suit the needs and interests of you and your students.
Our offer
- Our History team of Grant, Mike and Asher are passionate about History and education. With many years’ teaching, Head of Department and assessment experience, they are fully committed to supporting centres’ delivery of History
- Opportunities to access the in-house and external subject expertise you need to support your delivery
- An extensive range of planning and preparation support, which includes schemes of work and delivery guides.
- High quality textbook provision covering a wide range of topics.
It’s easy to switch
- If you’re an OCR-approved centre, all you need to do is download the specification and start teaching
- Sign up for our Q&A webinar exclusively for centres who are thinking of moving to or are new to OCR
- A range of options meaning you can bring topics that you currently teach with you to our specification or you can choose from our wide range of new and engaging areas
- Use our unique online A Level Specification Creator tool to check that your chosen combination of topics constitutes a valid course (i.e. that you’ve met the 200 year rule). Specification Creator also allows you to sign up for topic specific updates on resources for the history that you’ve chosen to teach
- Attend one of our free teacher network events to meet other History teachers and share their experiences of delivering the OCR course.
We have everything you need to make your move. Start planning your new course and get ready to make history with OCR.
