The Progress Tracker shows the achievement status for qualifications and units. We've provided more detail about the meaning of each status below:
Qualification result status
We have given each student one of the following qualification result statuses. These show whether a student is on track to receive their result and whether any action is required:
- ‘Not Eligible’: Action required – The student is currently at risk of not receiving a qualification result this summer. Use the reasons shown in the Tracker to resolve any issues. You may find you have a lot of students showing as ‘Not Eligible’ if you have not yet made your final claims of the year.
- ‘Achieved’: No action required – The candidate has achieved the full qualification. Note: If a student is resitting a unit, the result status will continue to show ‘Achieved’.
- ‘Pending’: Monitor progress and check pathways – No issues have been identified and the student has unit results pending, eg June 2024 exam results. Students must achieve all the pending unit result units required for the qualification result to be issued. It’s important to check unit combinations for students entered for 2016 qualifications with specialist pathways (see below).
Cambridge Technicals qualifications with pathways: Some Cambridge Technicals qualifications have specialist pathways and students must have a valid combination of units to achieve the pathway. The qualification entry you make doesn’t tell us which pathway has been selected. This means any issues with a student’s combination of units can’t be highlighted in the Progress Tracker. Take a look at our FAQ for a list of qualifications that contain mandatory pathways.
Unit achievement status: Examined units
The student achieved the unit with at least a Near-Pass grade for units at Level 3 or an Achieved or Pass grade for units at Level 2.
The student attempted the unit but failed to achieve the minimum standard required.
The student is entered for the unit in the current exam series (and did not achieve the unit in a previous series). Note: If the student achieved the unit in a previous exam series, the unit status shows as ‘Result achieved’.
The student has not been entered for the unit in the current exam series (and did not achieve the unit in a previous series).
The student was marked as absent on the attendance register or was absent from a computer-based test. The absent status shows whilst the exam series is live. Note: If the student achieved the unit in a previous exam series, the unit status shows as ‘Result achieved’.
If an application for special consideration absence is accepted, an assessed grade for the unit(s) will be issued. This status shows when the application has been accepted but the result has not been issued.
Unit achievement status: Moderated units
The student achieved the unit with at least a Pass grade.
The student failed to achieve the minimum standard required and was awarded unclassified (U). Note: If the unit was withdrawn by the moderator no unit status will show in the ‘unit achievement status’ column (it will be ‘blank’).
The claim has been submitted to the moderator.
The sample has been selected by the moderator.
If an application for special consideration absence is accepted, an assessed grade for the unit(s) will be issued. This status shows when the application has been accepted but the result has not been issued.
The claim has been revised/confirmed by the moderator. This will only appear for a short time. Note: If the Result Pending status shows for more than 24 hours, please contact us at vqprocessing@ocr.org.uk.
