What services are available?

We offer the following services:

  • Clerical check (service 1) of all procedures leading to the issue of a result.
  • Post-results review of the original marking without report (service 2) for individual candidates to make sure the agreed mark scheme has been applied correctly.
  • Post-results review with report for individual candidates (service 2a) or groups (service 2b). A review of the original marking to make sure the agreed mark scheme has been applied correctly. It also includes an individual report detailing the candidate or group of candidates’ performance. The group should be a minimum of five candidates and no more than 15 candidates.

Candidate consent

Before submitting a review, centres must obtain the written consent of candidates for clerical checks and post-results reviews of marking since, with these services, candidates’ marks and subject grades may be lowered. 

By submitting your application, you are confirming candidate consent has already been obtained. Copies of candidate consent forms do not need to be sent to OCR.

Submitting a review

For all vocational qualifications, reviews of results must be submitted within three months of the receipt of results (see the key dates).

To submit a review, please complete the form below and email it to vq.reviewofresults@ocr.org.uk.

Fees

There is no charge for a clerical check. Where the subject grade changes as a consequence of the review, no fee will be charged. For a full list of charges, see our fees list.

We’ll send an invoice when the review is complete.

Acknowledgements and outcomes

The outcome of each review will be confirmed by email. 

Where a grade changes and a certificate has already been issued, a replacement will be issued showing the revised grade once the centre returns the original to OCR.

Amending or cancelling your review

Once you have submitted a review of marking or moderation, if you wish to amend or cancel your request:

  1. Email your request to vq.reviewofresults@ocr.org.uk.
  2. Please include your centre number, candidate number(s) and unit and/or component number(s) in the email. 
  3. We will then contact you to confirm whether or not your request has been accepted. If the review has already begun, the request cannot be cancelled.
  4. If you request a cancellation and it is accepted, you will be charged 50% of the original fee.
  5. If you change your original request, e.g. from a clerical check to a review of marking, the relevant fee will be applied.
