OCR summer 2020 rebate of entry fees and autumn 2020 exam fees
07 August 2020
With results days approaching, we look forward to supporting you and your students with everything you need to make the days go as smoothly as possible.
Our priority has been to help your students to progress and we’re incredibly grateful for your collaboration in the process for delivering results this summer.
We’ve always said we would pass back any savings to schools and colleges from the cancellation of exams. Although we’re a not for profit organisation and part of a university, we have to cover our costs. These have been substantial, including the sums we’d spent on exams before they were cancelled, such as creating and printing exam papers, as well as the costs of developing the new IT system to deliver results this year. On top of that, we decided to take care of our assessors through a variety of payments.
We can confirm that we will give you a rebate of 23% on your June 2020 exam entry fees for GCSEs, AS and A Levels, and our other general qualifications.
We can also confirm we’ll pay a rebate of 20% for entry fees for Cambridge Nationals and Cambridge Technicals. Find out how the rebate applies to our qualifications below.
To be transparent about what we’ve done, we’re asking an independent reviewer to check our figures. Subject to that, we’ll apply these rebates as credit notes in the autumn.
We hope this rebate is helpful during these challenging times for schools and colleges.
Autumn 2020 exam fees
You may also be considering the extra autumn 2020 exam series as an option for some students. This will be a full exam series and we’ve decided to keep the exam fees the same as June 2020 levels.
If you have any questions about this or any other information, please contact our team by ringing us on 01223 553998 or emailing general.qualifications@ocr.org.uk. You can also stay up to date via the dedicated website pages we set up this summer or on Twitter (@ocrexams) or by signing up to receive updates.
Thank you again for your collaboration and all the best for the results days ahead.
