A Level Economics
29 April 2024
As part of our ongoing commitment to accessibility in our assessment materials, and following feedback from teachers, we have improved the question paper layout for A Level Economics H460/03 Themes in economics.
H460/03 Themes in economics – Section B
In Section B of the H460/03 Themes in economics question paper, we have separated out the stimulus material so the extracts and data are located before each of the relevant questions. We've made this change to prevent unnecessary page turning for students. The layout will appear as follows:
Extract 1 Text
Figure 1.1 Data
‘Using Extract 1…’ questions
‘Using Figure 1.1…’ questions
Extract 2 Text
Figure 2.1 Data
‘Using Extract 2…’ questions
‘Using Figure 2.1…’ questions
Extract 3 Text
Figure 3.1 Data
‘Using Extract 3…’ questions
‘Using Figure 3.1…’ questions
This layout change applies to assessments taking place from the June 2024 exam series onwards.
Although our A Level Economics question papers will look a little different from previous years, the demand of and the types of questions is not changing.
Example assessment material
You can view and download an example of the new question paper layout from the Assessment > Exams > Sample assessment materials section on Teach Cambridge.
Please share this example with your A Level Economics students.
Mark schemes
We are also making some changes to strengthen our mark schemes, by adding more detail to level descriptors and adapting the layout to improve clarity. We will provide more information on this in the summer.
