04 February 2025
Following the errata notices we issued for A Level Physics B (H557/01/02/03) in the June 2024 exam series, we've updated the data, formulae and relationships booklet and specifications for AS and A Level Physics B (Advancing Physics) – H157/H557.
Amended data, formulae and relationships booklet (H157/H557)
On pages 5 and 7 of the data, formulae and relationships booklet, we’ve now added the missing equations, as indicated in the boxes below:
To provide clarity for students, we’ve also improved the presentation of the formulae throughout the booklet.
You can view and download the updated booklet (2025) from:
- the Assessment > Sample assessment materials sections on the A Level and AS Level Physics A qualifications pages on our website.
- the Assessment > Exams > Question papers and mark schemes section on Teach Cambridge.
Note: For the June 2025 series, centres will receive hard copies of the amended booklet as part of their non-confidential general stationery despatch. Please make sure candidates are using clean copies of the amended booklet (OCR 2025 copyright version) for the Physics B exams.
Amended specifications
To reflect the equation amendments above, we’ve also updated the Physics B data sheet (section 5c) in each specification for AS and A Level Physics B.
In addition, in section 5 of the AS Level Physics B specification (page 30), we’ve also corrected the conversion factor for 1 light year to be ≈ 1016m.
You can view and download the amended specifications below:
These are available to view and download from the AS and A Level Physics B qualification pages on our website and Teach Cambridge.
Please make sure you’re using the correct versions of the specifications and data booklet with your students. These amendments are immediate and apply for the June 2025 series onwards.
