Carry forward arrangements for reformed qualifications

Carry forward arrangements
We have updated our reformed GCSE, AS and A Level specifications for those qualifications which contain a non-examination assessment (NEA) to make the ‘carry forward’ arrangements clearer.
Candidates can carry forward NEA results for the lifetime of the specification by using the relevant ‘carry forward’ entry code.
Candidates may also re-use a previous result for practical endorsements, even if they were awarded by another awarding organisation or were awarded for an alternative suite.
There is no restriction on the number of times an NEA component or endorsement may be carried forward; however, only the most recent non-absent result may be used.
Please see the sections on retaking the qualification and non-exam assessment admin within the individual specifications for further details.
These arrangements are in line with the JCQ instructions for conducting non-examination assessments.
