Centre approval and DCS for new career guidance qualifications
28 April 2022
To support the change from our legacy Career Guidance qualifications (04512/10215) to our updated Career Guidance qualifications (04663/04664), we want to clarify the transfer of centre approval and direct claims status (DCS) for our existing centres.
Centre approval
For centres who are currently approved to deliver the legacy Career Guidance and Development Level 6 Diploma (10215), you'll be automatically approved to deliver both Career Guidance and Development Level 6 Diploma (04664) and Career Information and Advice Level 4 Diploma (04663).
For centres who are currently approved to deliver the legacy Career Information and Advice Level 4 Diploma (04512), you'll be automatically approved to deliver Career Information and Advice Level 4 Diploma (04663). If you want to also deliver the new Level 6 qualification (04664), please complete our form to add additional verified qualifications to your approval – you can view guidance for completing the form on our website.
Direct claims status
As the new careers guidance qualifications contain updated content and units, direct claims status (DCS) will not be automatically transferred to the new qualifications:
- For centres that have had centre approval transferred and have DCS for the legacy schemes, DCS will be reviewed at your first verification visit for the new qualifications.
- For new centres, DCS can be recommended after 12 months and two verification visits if the eligibility criteria have been met.
For more information about the direct claims process, please see our website.
