Results for Legacy Functional Skills in ICT

On 17 September 2021, we informed centres about the new HTML tests for Functional Skills in ICT. We'd now like to provide clarification on the results process for these tests.

Following Adobe's decision to stop supporting Flash, we created new HTML tests to make sure tests could continue to be delivered successfully. We have taken this opportunity to update the tests with new scenarios to keep them up-to-date and engaging for students.

We're pleased to confirm centres can now also:

• mark practice tests themselves – allowing you to judge more accurately when students should be entered for live assessment
• view detailed feedback in the results reports – allowing you to give meaningful feedback to support teaching and learning.

As we have created new tests, they are subject to an awarding process to determine the pass mark, which means it takes slightly longer to release the results.

Results are now released between 17 and 27 working days, depending on when, within each fortnightly window, the tests were taken.

As more tests are taken and we're able to generate data on the standard of each test, we aim to move to pre-determined boundaries which will then allow us to release the results sooner. We'll let you know once we're able to do this.

All results will be released in Surpass and on Interchange as normal in the time frame mentioned above.
