Removal of funding for ICT and digital qualifications

This update was originally published on 23 March 2021. We have amended the update as funding is being removed from the IT User Skills (ITQ) qualifications from 1 August 2021, not 1 August 2022.
We can confirm that the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) has published a list of ICT and digital qualifications at Entry Level and Level 1 where funding approval is being removed.
From 1 August 2021 funding is being removed for the following qualifications:
- OCR Digital Employability Entry Level 1-3 Award and Level 1 Award
- OCR Entry Level Award in Using ICT (Entry 3)
- OCR Level 1 Award, Certificate and Diploma in IT User Skills (ITQ)
From 1 August 2022 funding is being removed for the following qualifications:
- OCR Functional Skills qualification in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Entry Level 1-3 and Level 1
Withdrawal of Digital Employability and Using ICT
We have now made the decision to withdraw these qualifications. Please see our subject information updates for Digital Employability and Using ICT for further details.
There are no immediate plans to withdraw the ITQ or Functional Skills in ICT qualifications.
