GCSE Computer Science J276 - Programming Project arrangements 2021
24 June 2020
Due to the impact of coronavirus, we know teachers have raised questions about completing the Programming Project for GCSE (9-1) Computer Science J276. We have listened to your queries and discussed them with Ofqual.
As a result, we're pleased to inform you that students may now complete the Programming Project remotely. This can take place at home, for example, without direct supervision from a teacher. This is a measure to support teachers and students during these challenging times.
The Programming Project remains an important requirement of the J276 specification. We understand that some of you will have already completed the practical Programming Project with your students. For those yet to complete it, remember it provides an opportunity for students to demonstrate their practical ability in the skills outlined in the specification, supporting the learning of Components 01 and 02.
We will not be requesting any student work in May 2021. We'll be updating our supporting documents to reflect guidance on this update and we'll let you know when these are ready.
You can read more on our FAQ page which will be updated regularly. If you have any queries you can contact us at computerscience@ocr.org.uk or call 01223 553998.
