AS and A Level Physical Education moderation
12 February 2020
This information has been superseded by our subject update published on 21 February 2024.
Filming the moderation day and submitting evidence
We would like to remind you that the filming of the moderation day is an Ofqual requirement and is not optional. If you do not film and submit this material to us this may be considered maladministration. To support you with the filming of the moderation day, we have produced some additional filming guidance.
The moderation process
You must submit your marks via Interchange or EDI by 31 March. You can find more information about submitting marks on our website.
You must also send the following to the moderator by 31 March:
- PE mark input form (AS Level and A Level)
- All filmed Evaluation and Analysis of Performance for Improvement (EAPI) tasks
- All filmed off-site activities
- A sample of on-site activities.
Once you've submitted the mark input form and filmed evidence to your moderator, they will let you know which activities and which students will need to be available on the day of moderation.
This year, to make it more straightforward for you to manage, we will not be moderating any Evaluation and Analysis of Performance for Improvement (EAPI) tasks live on the moderation day – we will use filmed evidence only.
On the moderation day, you must film all your candidates' performances. You must then send the filmed evidence to OCR (not the moderator) within 10 working days, along with the moderation day cover sheet.
