Students, parents and carers

If necessary, they can then contact us and we can take the necessary action. More information can be found here:

What’s on this page

I am unhappy with my results. What should I do? Can I make a subject access request to find out my centre assessment grade and rank order? I have been through my school’s/college’s complaints process and am still unhappy, what should I do? I never received my exam certificate. What should I do? I’ve lost my certificate. What do I do? I have concerns about how a course is being run by my school/college. What can I do?

I am unhappy with my results. What should I do?

If you are unhappy with your results or feel that they are incorrect, your teacher is in the best position to help you. They will be able to clearly explain the options available to you. We want to help you as much as possible but we are unable to share specific examination related information because we don’t hold enough information to verify your identity and we have a duty to protect the confidentiality of the data we hold.

Can I make a subject access request to find out my centre assessment grade and rank order?

To do this, please read our more detailed frequently asked questions.

I have been through my school’s/college’s complaints process and am still unhappy, what should I do?

Please contact us with your concerns:

  • By email: complaints@ocr.org.uk
  • By post: Complaints Team, OCR, The Triangle Building, Shaftesbury Road, Cambridge, CB2 8EA
  • By phone: via our Customer Contact Centre

To enable us to process your complaint effectively and direct it to the correct person please provide us with as many of the following details as you can:

  • Your name/ candidate’s name
  • Your address
  • Centre name and number (if you/ the candidate are from an approved examination centre)
  • An email address
  • Candidate number(s)
  • The relevant qualification and specification code your complaint relates to
  • A clear description of your complaint
  • Copies of any relevant correspondence

For further details, please refer to our complaints policy:

I never received my exam certificate. What should I do?

We recommend you contact the exams officer at your school or college to see if they have the original certificate. Schools and colleges are required to retain certificates for a period of 12 months after they are issued.

I’ve lost my certificate. What do I do?

If you’ve lost your OCR certificate, you can fill in the online application form. We will then search for and send you:

  • A replacement certificate – for vocational qualifications, e.g. NVQs.
  • A certifying statement of results which is an official copy of the final examination results held by us – for general qualifications, e.g. GCSEs or A Levels

Please note there is a standard fee for this service. Find out more about lost certificates

I have concerns about how a course is being run by my school/college. What can I do?

If your concerns relate to the teaching of one of our qualifications or a decision which has been made by your school/college, each of our examination centres are required to have their own internal complaints and appeals process which you must follow before contacting us. If you have been through this process and remain dissatisfied you may bring your concerns to our attention.
