Cambridge Technicals and Cambridge Nationals students to receive centre assessment grades
18 August 2020
Following our regulator Ofqual’s announcement that A Level and GCSE students are to receive centre assessment grades, we’ve decided to do the same for students getting Cambridge Technicals and Cambridge Nationals results this summer.
To give students Cambridge Technicals and Cambridge Nationals results, we followed a similar standardisation process and asked teachers to give us centre assessment grades and rank orders. To produce final calculated grades for Cambridge Technicals and Cambridge Nationals, we then combined this information with evidence from units students had already taken.
We’re now committed to making centre assessment grades the basis for Cambridge Technicals and Cambridge Nationals results. Students taking Cambridge Technicals and Cambridge Nationals can now use centre assessment grades given by their teachers, or their final grade we calculated, if that is the higher grade. When we re-issue results, no student grades will be lower than those we originally issued.
Cambridge National results will be released on Tuesday 25 August. These will be the centre assessment grade or, where it was higher, the calculated grade. In the meantime, you may give your students their centre assessment grades (from 8am on Thursday 20 August).
For Cambridge Technicals, we will be issuing updated unit and qualification results. Unit results will be the unit centre assessment grade or, where it was higher, the unit calculated grade. Updated qualification results, which combine these new units with any previously achieved units, will then be released as soon as possible. We will provide you with further information as soon as we can but please be assured that when we re-issue results, no student grades will be lower than those originally issued.
