New OCR Geography teaching and learning resources
30 August 2016
We are really pleased that our online Scheme of Work Builder is now online to support you with your planning of GCSE Spec A, GCSE Spec B, AS and A Level qualifications.
The SOW builder enables you to drag, drop and chop up the specification content for flexible planning. To complement this, we have uploaded a number of our newly formatted Online Delivery Guides where each activity has been mapped to a specific part of the specification. Within a topic/theme where there is a linked activity the activity column text in the SOW builder will be highlighted blue and you will be able to insert the activity into the SOW builder (if there is no associated activity the activity column will remain greyed out).
Within the SOW builder you can write your own planning in the notes section, so all of your planning is in one place. Once you have planned your SOW you can export this into a Word document. A 'Save and retrieve' function is currently being tested, which will enable you and your department to collectively review and add to any SOWs that you have created.
We have worked closely with current teachers to try and provide you with a range of flexible teaching and learning resources that can be adapted to suit the needs of your individual learners and complement your own planning. We are really keen to hear your feedback so if you use any of the activities with your students, please do let us know how you get on at either geography@ocr.org.uk or @OCR_Geography.
The aim of a delivery guide is to provide a number of teaching and learning activities that can be incorporated into your own planning which explore a number of areas within each theme or topic.
AS/A Level - the following topics have been developed and are coming soon in our new Online Delivery Guide format:
- Glaciated Landscapes
- Trade in the Contemporary World
- Human Rights
- Power and Borders
- Climate Change
- Exploring Oceans
Sign up to our Geography subject e-mail alerts or follow us on Twitter to know when new resources are uploaded. There will be a Delivery Guide for every topic, so please keep an eye out for any new uploads.
