Teaching and learning resources for our new qualifications
25 February 2016
With first teach for our new GCSEs and AS/A Levels approaching for many of you this September, it is a really exciting time for the creation of our teaching and learning resources. We have been working with current teachers across the country to develop a wide range of resources to help support you and your students within the classroom. Whether it is a single lesson element, a whole delivery guide or a case study we want to be able to provide a range of options to support teachers with their own planning. We understand that planning both new GCSEs and A Levels can be a daunting task, so our aim is to provide as much support and resources as we possibly can for both first teach and beyond.
For GCSE A (Geographical Themes), GCSE B (Geography for Enquiring Minds) and AS/A Level there will be a delivery guide for each theme or topic. The aim of a delivery guide is to provide a number of teaching and learning activities that can be incorporated into your own planning which explore a number of areas within each theme or topic. It is intended as a starting point for you to pick and choose activities that suit you and your students and compliment your own planning. In addition, for GCSE A and B there will be case study summaries, the aim being to provide teachers with optionality and topical case studies over the course of the qualification.
Keep an eye out for the following teaching and learning resources coming soon:
- Delivery guides for all themes for GCSE Geography A (Geographical Themes)
- Delivery guides for all topics for GCSE Geography B (Geography for Enquiring Minds)
- Delivery guides for all topics for AS/A Level
- Guide to the new A Level independent investigation
- A Level concept mapping document
- Guide to the SAMs for all components for both GCSEs, the AS and the A Level.
