Why choose us?
Our offer for AS and A Level Further Mathematics B (MEI)
Our specification makes it clear where to pitch the subject content. Content is arranged to show the split clearly between AS content and the A Level only content. The Maths and Further Maths specifications use the same content references to support teaching both courses.
Accessibility is key when writing our exam papers. The wording and layout of our questions papers are designed to ensure all students access the maths in the questions.
Separate question and answer booklets allow students to see the whole question and all parts of their solution without the distraction of turning pages when working through extended response problems.
Single mandatory core pure paper. Allows questions to be set that go into a bit more depth and gives students more thinking time than would be possible with two shorter papers. Section A consists of shorter, more routine questions which helps to build student confidence and motivation at the beginning of the exam.
Greater range of options. Students can sit 1 major and 1 minor, or 3 minors from: mechanics (major or minor), statistics (major or minor), modelling with algorithms, numerical methods, extra pure or further pure with technology. Exams are scheduled so that students do not sit options on the same day to ensure no specific combination will be disadvantaged.
We offer a comprehensive support package in collaboration with MEI. See our support highlights guide for the full range of teaching resources and professional development events. You can register for free to the MEI staffroom for schemes of work, resources and professional development.
