Updated marking form for GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition
20 November 2023
This update was first published on 11 May 2023. We’ve now updated the MC2 marking form again to include a tick box at the top of the form. Please use this box to confirm students spent no more than 3 hours completing the Food Preparation Task (task 2).
You can view the updated MC2 marking form (interactive and non-interactive) in the Assessment > Forms section on Teach Cambridge and via the Forms finder tool on the OCR website.
For GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition (J309), we have updated the MC2 marking form for component 04/05. We've updated the form to clarify the requirements of the three-hour session which involves the preparing, cooking and presenting of three dishes.
The additional text on the form reads as follows:
- Learners will prepare, cook and present a menu of three complete dishes within a single session of three hours. Learners will demonstrate a range of technical skills in the preparation, cooking and presenting of the menu of three dishes: please refer to the specification section 2b: D: Skills requirements: preparation and cooking techniques.
This update reflects the messaging in the specification outlining the requirements for the component.
Please note, we've not made any changes to the marking guidance on the form and there are no changes to the expectations from students.
You can view the updated MC2 marking form on Teach Cambridge.
You can also access the MC2 marking forms (non-interactive and interactive) using our Forms finder tool on our website.
Please make sure you are using the latest form with your students for the June 2024 series.
