Our Customer Support Team is committed to providing dedicated support, training and guidance to centres delivering our qualifications. We've provided details about our support and training events below. To book a place on our upcoming online events, visit our booking page.
Network meetings provide an opportunity for exams officers to get together in local groups, either face-to face or online, and be part of a supportive exams officer community. They’re a great forum to discuss the latest news and developments, ask questions and exchange useful advice and guidance with like-minded professionals.
Our customer support managers run OCR-led exams officer networks across England and attend independent, locally run meetings too.
If you’re interested in finding your local network, or if you’re already running a network and would like us to attend, then let us know.
Each year, we work with The Exams Office on the development and delivery of a number of face-to-face training events in the autumn and spring terms. Designed for those who are new to the exams officer role or those requiring a refresher, the training provides a comprehensive guide to the key activities exams officers need to carry out in their role and the main exam-related tasks and activities relating to general qualifications. More information is available from the ExamsTraining website.
Our regular live online updates provide exams officers with the latest information and key updates from OCR, JCQ, Ofqual and the DfE. You can also ask our customer support managers any questions you may have.
Throughout the year we run dedicated online training sessions for our Cambridge Nationals and Cambridge Technical qualifications, providing a full overview of the key administration processes. These are suitable for exams officers who are new to the qualifications or those seeking a refresher.
For Cambridge Technicals, our sessions focus on key administrative tasks relevant to the time of year. You can view recordings of previous sessions here:
Our live online ‘check-in’ sessions are designed for new exams officers and those with limited experience of running an exam series. These informal events, which take place between February and April each year, provide practical advice and guidance on running exams and assessments and are an opportunity for you to ask questions and network with other exams officers.
Taking place after the summer exams, these live online events support you with managing results and post-results services. We run sessions covering general qualifications and Cambridge Nationals and separate sessions for Cambridge Technicals.
Throughout the year, we also run a series of other online support and training events. These helpful sessions provide a comprehensive overview of the tasks involved in carrying out specific activities and an opportunity to ask questions. These include:
Cambridge Nationals explained: The terminal rule – We provide a detailed explanation of the terminal assessment rule for Cambridge Nationals with example scenarios.
Cambridge Technicals explained: Checkpoint drop-in sessions – We provide a summary of the Cambridge Technicals checkpoint arrangements. Sessions allow you to ‘drop-in’ and ask any questions you have about the term-time checkpoint.
Cambridge Technicals explained: Steps to results – We guide exams officers and teachers through the key steps to make sure all students expecting a qualification result in August receive their results as planned. We cover the Cambridge Technicals timeline, checking and resolving student results eligibility and using the Progress Tracker to help check your data.
