Teaching remotely is a big challenge and one that we know you are working creatively to manage.
60% of teachers who answered our recent product support survey requested support with independent learning resources. Below are several resources that you can use to support your students.
Our resources
You will be aware we produce learning and assessment resources and have endorsed textbooks for A Level Economics. Remember we have a revised specification for first assessment in 2021, but the content of the previous textbook (last assessment 2020) covers everything learners need to know.
In addition to this please visit teacher resources where you will find the teacher delivery packs containing useful PowerPoint resources and student activities for you to use.
Teaching and learning resources
Free resources provide topic knowledge and explanation and can be used as stand-alone resources or combined with our assessment materials:
- BBC have many up to date news articles, and in the current climate economics is never far away from the news. Students could analyse government responses to the current economic situation or produce their own briefings with their own recommendations.
- Hodder Education are also offering a free 90-day trial on many home learning resources as well as free webinars designed for students and teachers.
- Khan Academy covers many major economics topics with in depth visual and audio explanations. There are also self-marking quizzes and themes to spark discussion.
- The Bank of England has a wealth of information and free teaching resources that will support students.
- The Economics Network has many videos and tutorials with self-marking quizzes for students to try. It also has a really useful economic data section that shows you all the free data resources online and may help with research and planning.
- Tutor2u specialises in supporting students with their range of great online lessons using a mixture of videos, research tasks, and news articles to challenge and support learners on a variety of economics topics.
