This national programme is designed as a framework to support and prepare students progress to a T Level, where this is their intended destination. The programme’s framework can also be used to support students who decide to explore other learning provisions such as applied general qualifications, apprenticeships, and other post-16 training upon completion of the programme.
The main aim of the programme is to help students develop a broad range of knowledge, skills and behaviours that will help to progress them onto their chosen T Level qualification.
Our Level 2 Cambridge Technical qualifications can be used to support students intending to progress to T Level through the technical components of the programme in several ways:
- Students develop underpinning technical knowledge and skills in their chosen pathway.
- The qualifications support a holistic and integrated approach to developing core knowledge, skills and behaviours completing a wider programme of preparation.
- Assessment is a core part of a T Level. Our qualifications help prepare and develop student confidence with the technical knowledge requirements through examinations, assignments, and project-based learning.
- Level 2 Cambridge Technical (2016) requires meaningful employer involvement which helps strengthen the technical knowledge development provision.
